|
The sensor ps/ks/11 is used for measuring structure-borne vibration in
machine parts.
It shows no resonance behaviour in the range of usual machine
frequencies since there is no moveable mass. Unlike conventional
vibration transducers, the sensor is not mounted on the surface of
the machine part, but fixed in a bore hole.
The output signal is proportional to the amplitude of the pressure waves
and is not dependent on the frequency.
The sensitive element contains a special sandwich of several piezo-ceramic
layers, which is imbedded and hermetically sealed in the sensor body.
In many applications the output signal is so high that there is no need
for a preamplifier.

The structure-borne vibration sensor ps/ks/11 may be mounted anywhere where the machine material is thick enough to drill a 10 mm deep hole with a diameter of 11 mm. The sensor is inserted and clamped (with appr. 8 Nm) into the hole. The orientation of the sensor has no influence on the output signal.
Special Features
The frequency response of the sensor is linear, so that even structure-borne vibrations with extremely low frequencies can be processed. However, if low frequencies are not desired they can be easily filtered by shunting an suitable resistor.
