marco, a company founded in Germany in 1982, is a Premium A1, ATEX and ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of intrinsically safe longwall control systems. marco develops and produces long-term compatible electrohydraulic control systems for customer-specific mining applications. marco’s product line known under the trade name pm32 offers complete system responsibility with a wide range of components including electronics, electrohydraulics, control units, sensors, valves, and cylinders such as legs and roof supports. In the harsh operating conditions underground, the pm32 controls support shields, face and entry conveyors, ploughs and shearers in thick or thin coal seams. marco’s application programs have been constantly improved since 1982, incorporating experience gathered over years of intensive activity in the mining sector. The programs contain the controls for electrohydraulic machines and systems, as well as complex data recording and transfer, including geomechanic analysis.
marco controllers and hydraulic blocks are easy to operate and are designed for use in longwalls with both new and used shields, conveyors, shearers or ploughs from any manufacturer, even if different types are used together. The most recent addition to the hydraulic side of our system is the pm3/val line of auxiliary valves. marco’s system or individual parts of it are approved for and used in mines all across the world: Europe, Russia, Ukraine, China, Mexico, USA, South Africa and Australia. Today 80% of all Chinese mines which are automated or are planning to be, have chosen a pm32 system. The majority of German longwalls operate successfully using our system. The main argument for marco’s pm32 system, its high productivity, is ensured through our continual investment in research and the further development of our products.
marco can be found in different locations around the world, four branches within Germany. Our main headquarters are in Dachau near Munich with approximately 100 people.
